Scholars, Thank you for a great first week! I've really enjoyed getting to know many of you and I look forward to getting to know you better in the months ahead. As promised, here are the tentative seating charts for 601 and 602. Come Tuesday (9/6), these will be your new seats in ELA and RTI (for 602). If you don't think that your new seat is best for your learning for any reason please email me at [email protected] and we will have a conversation about it over email or the phone. A conversation does not guarantee a seat move but I will take your perspectives into account. No concerns will be accepted on Tuesday. Have a great weekend! Ms. Cieplicki

Dear Parents and Scholars,
I am overwhelmed with optimism and gratitude after meeting many of you tonight. Your warmth and commitment to achievement and growth inspire me to make this year your best year with ELA so far. My plans for HOW to do just that will be outlined in the syllabus. This document, which will outline classroom expectations for the year, will be available by this Friday (8/26) at 5pm. You all will receive a hard copy on Monday (first day of school) to review together. I am requiring a signed copy returned to me by next Friday (9/2). A soft copy of the syllabus will always be available on this website for your reference. Again thank you for such a warm welcome to the Met family tonight! Parents: I am humbled by the opportunity to assist your children on their journey as scholars. It is my hope that the conversations we began tonight can continue for the remainder of the school year. Scholars: I look forward to seeing you all Monday and kicking off a great year! Warmly, Ms. Cieplicki Dear Parents,
We at Met are all busy preparing to welcome you back this Wednesday at 5pm to our school. I am so excited to meet you and your children! This Wednesday you will learn that big changes are being made school wide this year. We are starting a restorative justice program. This program focuses on building relationships with scholars, rather than punishing them. Scholars are encouraged and supported in sharing their opinions and feelings. I believe that this framework provides a great opportunity for scholars to build their communication skills and will contribute to a positive and collaborative classroom environment. You can read more about restorative justice here: www.edutopia.org/blog/restorative-justice-resources-matt-davis. Please share your thoughts on restorative justice in classrooms in the comments section! Warmly, Ms. Cieplicki |
